Pastor J
Under the oversight of our Senior Pastor, the honorable Rev. Dr. Kevin E. Donalson, Sr., Pastor J faithfully serves as the fifth Youth Pastor in the storied history of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Licensed to preach the Gospel by Bishop Anthony Brown and ordained by Senior Pastor Terry Norman, Pastor J continues a rich multi-generational legacy of church leadership within his family.
As Chief Servant Leader and visionary architect of The Bridge, the College and Youth Ministry has experienced remarkable growth and renewal. Through empowering an amazing and dedicated volunteer team and leading with love, unity, and excellence, lives are being transformed and a thriving ministry culture has emerged. In 2025, The Bridge celebrated a banner year marked by rapid growth, impactful outreach, and strengthened discipleship.
A fresh educational curriculum has helped produce significant expansion, while new partnerships have been formed with National Pan-Hellenic organizations, churches, charities, and interfaith groups. Most importantly, discipleship remains the heartbeat of the ministry as The Bridge continues building strong relationships with students, parents, and families through intentional community.
Pastor J also launched the Prayer Plus initiative—an innovative ministry model that goes beyond traditional prayer gatherings by combining heartfelt intercession, encouragement, and practical support. Through faith-filled care and access to licensed mental health practitioners, Prayer Plus ministers to the whole person: spiritually, emotionally, and relationally.
The vision of The Bridge has also birthed Unfiltered Praise & Fellowship, a dynamic First Friday worship experience held monthly at 7 PM. Open to all ages, this gathering offers authentic praise, an uplifting message, loving fellowship, food, and small group connection in a welcoming atmosphere.
